System 76 CEO Teases New Laptop Code Named "Virgo"
Carl Richell teases System 76's next laptop. This one is particularly exciting as it will be the first...

Earlier today Carl Richell decided it was time to tease System 76's next laptop.
Code named "Virgo", the reason this laptop is so exciting is because this will be System 76's own design!
“Virgo” is the code name for the laptop we’ll manufacture at our Denver factory. This is the LCD “A” panel milled from thin 6061 aluminum bar stock. pic.twitter.com/hon88Ia5Nn

To me, the Thelio desktop line has always come across as System 76's flagship product due to it's cool aesthetics and since it's manufactured in Colorado. It looks like "Virgo" will also be manufactured mostly in Colorado:
We'll manufacture quite a few parts in Denver but it will also include parts we design that are produced by overseas suppliers.

No word on a release date yet, but given a few of the replies, I would personally guess late this year or early next year at the earliest.
Here's the other side of the panel:

I will be following along closely so expect to see future updates on this laptop via articles or potentially future videos.
UPDATE: Another interesting point today:
We usually use a laser to cut switch sockets but it was down for maintenance. Sometimes it’s also easier to keep the part on the mill for early prototypes.
